Hi Sarah,

Here’s an impromptu story for you:

There was an old man who lived in a poor coastal village. Winter was setting in, and the cold wind snuck up on the entire countryside. The man was alone and missed his family. Staring at his fireplace, he thought of them back home. His daughter and grandson struggled to get by; the boy’s father had been dead for years. It had been some time since the old man had seen them. The only reason he left in the first place was to send them what money he could. There was little work back home. Still his daughter refused to leave the place she was born. She was stubborn like her mother.

Snow flurries appeared outside the window, and the darkness of the season came into the house. The man knew the darkness would only grow longer. If he hoped to see…
